For months, much of the media coverage around Justin Bieber has focused on what have appeared to be personal troubles, coupled with a noticeable silence, as he hadn’t released new music in years. Fans were left wondering when they’d get to hear from the pop superstar again.

Bieber shocked millions around the world on Thursday (July 10) when he revealed that a new album titled Swag wasn’t just complete, it was set to drop in a matter of hours. The full-length has now arrived and is quickly becoming a strong seller in the United States.

Swag Debuts as a Bestseller

Though it has yet to become a chart-topper, Swag currently sits in the runner-up spot on the iTunes Top Albums chart. Two versions of the set reside inside the top 20, with another appearing down at No. 19.

In the coming hours, Swag could continue to climb, as it’s still early. The collection has only been out for a few hours, and many people have yet to realize that one of the world’s biggest pop musicians has delivered a brand new project, as it wasn’t highly-publicized, as is usually the case whenever he has something to share.

Justin Bieber Trails Hip-Hop Heavyweights

Bieber is currently held back from reaching No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums list by three hip-hop superstars. Clipse – the duo made up of Pusha T and Malice, who are also credited as soloists on the project – return with Let God Sort ’Em Out. The album shot right to the top, as longtime fans were eager to hear from the legends again.

No Songs From Swag Chart Just Yet

At the moment, Bieber doesn’t appear on the iTunes Top Songs ranking, as none of the 21 tracks featured on Swag have sold well enough on their own to land on the 200-spot roster. Again, it’s early for Swag, and its fate could change as more and more people discover the album and select their favorites.

Justin Bieber’s First New Full-Length in Four Years

Swag marks Bieber’s first new album since Justice, which dropped a little more than four years ago. The project is his seventh full-length, and the pop singer has also released a handful of acoustic collections, compilations, and EPs throughout his decade-plus as a superstar.

It appears the lead single from Swag is “Daisies,” which might soon become a bestseller — and perhaps even a major chart win in the coming days.
