The Baby and Kid Gear I Swear by for My Kids Is 50% Off With These Prime Day Deals

If you’re a parent with an Amazon account, you’ve probably been inundated with ads for Prime Day deals on kid and baby gear (just in time for going back to school!). If you’ve actually clicked on any of them, you might have been overwhelmed with the options—because they’re overwhelming! That’s why I put together this list of the best Prime Day deals on gear for kids and babies you should buy before the sale ends on Friday night.

I highly recommend these kid and baby gear deals

As a product reviewer and mom of two, I’ve tested a lot of gear for kids. And because my oldest is 9, I’ve had the opportunity to test most of it for long-term durability. I’m also always on the lookout for products that offer some level of versatility, because I prefer to spend my money on things that will grow with my kids or otherwise be useful in my home. All of the products I’ve shared below check both of those boxes.

The best Prime Day deals on baby and back-to-school gear

The best kids water bottle ($40 → 20% off)

Hydro Flask Kids 20-oz Water Bottle

I’ve tested kids’ water bottles a few times and the Hydro Flask is always my top pick. It’s super durable, all the parts are dishwasher-safe, and when the spout straw is down, it’s completely leakproof. It also weighs less than the comparable Yeti. I really like the removable silicone boot on the bottom too. It does make it a little tricky to slide the bottle into a water bottle pouch on a backpack or lunchbox but it prevents that terrible sound that happens when a double-insulated, stainless-steel water bottle bottle gets dropped or slammed down on a counter or desk. There’s absolutely nothing baby-ish about this bottle either, so (as long as they don’t lose it) big kids can use it indefinitely. Right now the 20-ounce size is 20% off.

The best water bottle for toddlers ($13 → 24% off)

Thermos Funtainer with Straw Lid

Greant Replacement Straws 12-oz Funtainer

Most kids’ water bottles have hard plastic spouts that don’t work well for tiny toddler mouths. But the slim silicone straw on the Thermos Funtainer is the perfect size. And when the lid is fully closed, it’s completely leakproof. All of the parts are dishwasher-safe and the Thermos itself is very durable. That said, you’ll likely end up needing replacement straws at some point, so you might as well buy some while they’re on sale too.

An infinitely versatile high chair that isn’t ugly ($239 → 20% off)

Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair with Baby Set

Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair with Baby Set and Tray

I went through so many different high chairs with my oldest son, and finally broke down and got a Stokke Tripp Trapp when my youngest was about six months old—and wish I would have just started with it. Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s so versatile you can use it from infant to big kid. The seat and foot rest can be adjusted to different heights so it’s a perfect slightly-higher seat for littles who are too big for a traditional highchair, but not quite tall enough to sit comfortably at the table in a dining chair. And with a 242-pound weight limit, adults can use it too! I even stood on it last week when I didn’t want to bother getting out my step ladder and I felt very secure. A few different configurations—including just the chair—are on sale today, so you can save some serious money if you don’t need the baby set.

My favorite modular lunch box ($12 → 14% off)

PackIt Flex Modular Food Storage Container

I’ve been using PackIt’s modular lunch boxes for years. The little dividers can be placed in any of the 11 grooves, so I can adjust the compartments to fit the food I’m sending to school or camp. The lid locks on securely but even very little hands can open it pretty easily. Also: ALL of the parts are dishwasher-safe and the hard, BPA-free plastic is still crystal clear after probably close to a thousand trips through the machine. The exact PackIt boxes I use aren’t marked down for Prime Day but the PackIt Flex boxes—which provide even more, er, flexibility thanks to bendy dividers that can create curved compartments—are on sale. The Flex also comes with a little snack/condiment container (dishwasher safe, of course).

A perfectly practical lunch bag ($20 → 20% off)

This Bentgo insulated lunch bag makes so much sense for kids. I love the adjustable strap, and the water bottle holder on the side helps us remember to grab water bottles in our mad morning rush. There are 23 patterns available on Amazon and right now most of them are marked down anywhere from 20% to 50% off.

Stainless steel snack and condiment containers with leakproof silicone lids ($7 → 22% off)

Stainless Steel Condiment Containers with Silicone Lids

Stainless Steel Snack Containers, 6 Pack

If you’re raising kids, I don’t need to tell you why you need so many little containers with lids; you already know. What you probably don’t know is where so many of yours have gone. Because they disappear at an often alarming rate, Prime Day is a great time to refresh your stock. I really like these little stainless steel containers because they’re lightweight, durable, dishwasher-safe, and the silicone lids create a leakproof seal. Little hands can open them easily too.

The best alternative to plastic cups ($17 → 26% off)

Stainless Steel 10-oz Tumblers, 4 Pack

I absolutely love these stainless steel tumblers—which are currently 26% off. They’re durable, dishwasher-safe, and lightweight enough for really little kids to use. You can even put silicone sippy and tippy lids on them as needed. My kids are 5 and 9 now, and we’re still using my original set.

Food-safe silicone mats ($19 → 17% off)

Silicone Counter Mats, 2 Pack

Kids are hard on dining tables, whether they’re eating a meal or doing arts and crafts. If you want to protect yours with something that doesn’t look like it belongs in a daycare, these almost-transparent silicone counter mats are a great option. I like them for babies too; the silicone is food safe which means you can serve finger foods directly on the mat and eliminate the 99.9% chance of a plate or bowl ending up on the floor.

The only truly baby-safe straws ($12 → 14% off)

I’ve never met a baby who wasn’t obsessed with straws. But paper will disintegrate in their mouths and they can very easily poke themselves in the eye with plastic or stainless steel. But these silicone straws from GIR make perfect baby chew toys. And, you know, drinking straws.

The very best bibs ($16 → 20% off)

Lalo Silicone Bib, 2 Pack

Once I started using this kind of bib, no other bib would do. The silicone is durable and easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher, and the food-catching pouch is simply brilliant. It’s also adjustable to fit little babies and toddlers. Right now you can get a two pack for 20% off.

A blender that’s better than a baby food maker ($85 → 48% off)

Entering the purées stage? Don’t bother buying a mediocre food processor that’s marketed as a baby food maker when a small blender or food processor will do a much better job and come in handy for plenty of other kitchen tasks too. If you plan to purée as you go (versus making big batches ahead of time and freezing small portions), a personal blender is a great option and right now our favorite model, the Nutribullet Ultra, is nearly half off.
